The leadership of the CVMST condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine and joins the worldwide call for an end to hostilities, withdrawal of Russian troops, and diplomatic resolution to this conflict. We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine whose lives, well-being, and freedom are under threat, with the Russian people who will unduly suffer the consequences of the actions of their bellicose and despotic leadership, and to all people in the region who will suffer instability, hardship, and fear as a result of these events. Everyone deserves peace, justice, freedom, self-determination, and happiness. We hope for a rapid de-escalation and resolution before the suffering becomes even worse, and call on everyone with the means to lend humanitarian support to those in need.
