The Marvin and Kathleen Stone Scholarship/ Fellowship

The Marvin and Kathleen Stone Scholarship/ Fellowship was established in 2020 by Dr. Marvin Stone (chief emeritus of hematology and oncology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and Clinical Professor in the Harry W. Bass Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology) and his wife Kathleen Stone in 2020 (retired healthcare and nonprofit foundation administration executive). Marvin and Kathy created this endowment to increase the impact of the Center for Values as it relates to how values, culture and humanities interact with medicine and science.

The Center for Values is grateful to Marvin and Kathy Stone for their generous support of interdisciplinary research that addresses socially salient aspects of medicine, science, and technology. Their efforts have been instrumental in establishing the Center for Values as an internationally recognized venue for interdisciplinary research in history and philosophy of science (HPS) and science and technology studies (STS). Thanks to Marvin and Kathy for their support of the Center for Values, the Bass School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology, and the University of Texas at Dallas.
