The Center for Values' 2013 Conference: Values in the Science and Practice of Medicine was a huge success thanks to the willing and eager participants who attended!
Discussions and presentations contained a wide array of experience and fields of interest. From seasoned professors and lecturers to first-time presenters and young graduate students, from lawyers to philosophers, the complete spectrum of disciplines and experiences made for a fulfilling and thought-provoking conference.
A special thank you goes out to our keynote speakers, Kristen Intemann and Adrienne Asch, whose presentations tied in beautifully with what the Center hoped the conference would achieve– discussing responsibility and ethics in the practice and science of health care and medicine.
The Center for Values would like to extend a very warm thank you to all of the attendees who participated–whether they were presenting papers, participating on a panel, asking questions in the crowd, making sure all of the coffee was consumed, or simply attended and kept silent. Each and every member of this conference made it a memorable and enjoyable academic experience as well as a success.
The Center is working to archive and catalog all papers presented at the conference at the PhilSci Archive, so if you were intrigued by a presentation or wanted to learn more, they are available for your viewing. We currently only have 9 of the many papers presented at the conference, so please get those papers submitted to the Center at your earliest convenience!
