Rebecca Skloot, bestselling author of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, will give the final lecture in our series on Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:30pm in the UT Dallas Conference Center. Skloot’s book, which took more than a decade to research and write, tells the story of a poor Southern tobacco farmer, Henrietta Lacks, whose cells–taken without her knowledge–became one of the more important tools in medical research. Skloot’s book was an instant New York Times bestseller and was the Amazon editor’s number one pick as the best book of 2010.
Ticket information can be found here. The lecture is presented in partnership with Arts and Letters Live, the literary series of the Dallas Museum of Art.
